Text Unlocked Support

Text Unlocked recognizes and works with text on your device; Myworkingmemory LLC does not see your pictures, documents, recognized text, edits, titles, settings, or use counts unless you choose to send something to us.

Text Unlocked converts text from selected images, screenshots, and supported PDFs, then lets you edit, save, copy, share, search, and export the result. Recognition and the saved-text library operate locally on your device.

Start a conversion

Open Text Unlocked and choose a supported image or PDF, use the camera or clipboard option offered by the app, or select Unlock Text from another app’s share sheet. The source must be readable, unprotected, and within the limits shown in the app. Recognition quality depends on the source image, language, handwriting, layout, and Apple’s on-device recognition support.

Your first completed conversion is free. That saved result remains available for ordinary editing, copying, sharing, and reopening while its local data remains on your device. A failed or cancelled conversion does not use the allowance.

Permanent Unlock

Permanent Unlock is a one-time, non-consumable App Store purchase. It is not a subscription. The purchase screen and Apple’s confirmation sheet show the included features and the actual localized price before you buy.

To restore a prior purchase, use the Apple Account that made it, open Text Unlocked, and choose Restore Purchases. Keep the app open while Apple verifies the entitlement. Restoring access does not restore documents that were deleted from the device. For charge, refund, or Apple Account questions, visit Apple’s purchase support.

Saved work and exports

The app’s library is stored locally and is excluded from routine device backups. Myworkingmemory LLC has no cloud library or account from which it can retrieve your documents. Export independent copies of important results before deleting the app, deleting a result, resetting or replacing a device, or removing storage.

Copy places text on the system clipboard. Share and export send content only to the app, person, file provider, or destination you select. Those destinations may keep their own copies. Searchable text-PDF export creates a new text document; it does not reproduce the original page design or certify the transcription.

Troubleshooting

If a source will not open or convert, confirm that its format is supported, remove password protection if you are authorized to do so, try a clearer or smaller source, and make sure the device has enough free storage and memory. Reopen the app after an interruption. Keep the original file because recognition can omit, insert, misread, or reorder text.

If the Unlock Text action does not appear, open the share sheet, choose Edit Actions, and enable it if Apple offers that control. Availability depends on the sending app and the material it shares.
