What it removes
- Author and “last modified by” names, comments and reviewer identities, tracked changes and editing history, hidden text
- Title, subject, keywords, company, manager, template, custom properties and custom XML stores, internal revision IDs
- PDF document information, XMP metadata, comment and markup annotations, attached files, embedded JavaScript and open actions
Links and form fields are kept. It is not a redaction tool: it removes hidden information, not text visible on the page.
How it works
- In Word: Home → Clean hidden info → Scan, then Clean & open a copy. The cleaned copy opens in a new window. Your original is never changed.
- In Outlook: while writing a message, Clean attachments replaces every .docx and PDF attachment with a cleaned, re-scanned copy.
- Private by design: cleaning runs inside Office on your computer. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and the add-ins send no analytics.
