Myworkingmemory LLC
Meridian Privacy Policy
Effective August 22, 2026. Document version 2026-08-22.2. This Policy covers Meridian, its product-specific pages on myworkingmemory.ai, and related support.
1. Who we are
Myworkingmemory LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operates Meridian (the "App"), the myworkingmemory.ai pages that link to this Policy, and related support (together, the "Services"). This Policy explains what information the App and Company handle, how it is used and disclosed, and the choices available to you.
2. Short version
Meridian is a free word game for Apple devices with three finished games and an optional Full Journey purchase. Your play—guesses, results, streak, mends, level progress, collected words, gems, unlocked themes and marks, recent match results, and settings—is stored and processed on your device. Company has no Meridian account or game server and does not receive that record.
The bounded three-game ledger is kept in the device keychain and, when available, in Apple’s iCloud key-value storage for your Apple Account. It contains a count and short one-way digests, not the words, levels, scores, or opponents involved. Company operates no server and does not receive this ledger. A Full Journey status cache stays on the device; Apple StoreKit remains the purchase authority.
This version does not use an analytics or attribution SDK and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Company does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Apple Game Center is optional and begins off. When enabled, the App asks Apple to authenticate you and find a real opponent, exchanges a running score with that opponent during a match, and may post two aggregate leaderboard numbers to Apple. Game Center is operated by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy, not by Company.
3. Product and privacy posture
- Meridian is distributed through the Apple App Store as a free download with three finished games and an optional Full Journey purchase. In this version, gems and their rewards are earned by playing.
- No Company account, email sign-in, or Company public profile is created. An optional Apple Game Center profile remains an Apple service.
- The daily word, word judging, level progress, scoring, streaks, statistics, and share grid are computed on your device. The daily word is derived from the day number, not fetched.
- Company operates no server for play, scores, leaderboards, purchases, or matchmaking.
- The App can contact Apple StoreKit for product and entitlement status, Apple iCloud for the bounded trial ledger, Apple Game Center after you opt in, the matched player through Apple’s connection, and your browser when you open a legal or support link.
- The App is a word game, not a health, medical, mental-health, biometric, legal, financial, employment, housing, education-decision, or safety-critical service.
4. Information stored on your device
Meridian stores in Apple-provided local App storage the day you first played; your guesses and results for each daily word; mended days and when a mend was used; which words you have found on each level, including bonus words; letters opened by a hint; completed levels and best times; Daily Journey progress; gems and the themes, player marks, and tile styles you have unlocked; the outcome, scores, and opponent name of your most recent matches, capped at fifty; your chosen daily ritual; and your sound, haptics, motion, and Game Center settings.
Version 2 reads the record created by version 1 on the same installation and carries your daily results, streak, and mends into the new local record. That migration happens on your device. Company does not receive the old or the new record.
Meridian also stores, on the device only, a random identifier for this installation and a record that the Terms were accepted: the document version, date and time, locale, screen shown, and a hash of the words shown. The identifier is not an advertising identifier and is not transmitted. You can see the acceptance record in Settings.
Separately, and so that reinstalling does not renew the three games or a second device receive another three, Meridian keeps a bounded count and a short one-way digest for each finished result. These values are stored in the device keychain and mirrored through Apple’s iCloud key-value storage when iCloud is available to the App. The digests are computed from an internal play identifier and reveal no word, level, score, or opponent. Company cannot read your iCloud storage. If iCloud is unavailable, the App continues on that device.
A local cache records whether Apple has verified Full Journey or whether the paid-download migration applied. It is stored in the device keychain and local defaults, not in the iCloud ledger. Apple StoreKit remains authoritative for purchases, reversals, and refunds. Erasing the Play Record deliberately does not clear the trial ledger or entitlement cache because they record used games and access status rather than play progress.
Device backups, iCloud Backup, computer backups, device migration, and restoration are controlled by Apple and your settings. Company cannot access, restore, correct, export, or delete the local record for you.
5. Apple Game Center
Game Center begins off. In the App’s settings you may turn on Use Game Center. If you leave it off, Meridian does not install a Game Center authentication handler, does not request matchmaking, and does not submit any score.
When you turn it on and authentication succeeds, Apple provides the App with your Game Center display name so Meridian can show that you are connected. Company does not receive your Apple Account credentials, Apple Account email address, password, payment data, or Game Center friend list.
When you start a versus match with Game Center on, the App asks Apple to find another player for about twelve seconds. If Apple finds one, Apple supplies that player’s Game Center display name to your device and your display name to theirs, and the two devices exchange one number for the remainder of the match: the current score. The App does not send your words, your board, your local record, your contacts, or any message, and Meridian provides no chat. If Apple finds nobody, the match is played against Meridian’s built-in opponent and nothing is exchanged.
With Game Center on, the App may also submit two aggregate whole numbers to Apple leaderboards: the total number of words you have found, and the number of matches you have won. It does not submit individual words, boards, guesses, times, or your daily history. Opening the leaderboards shows Apple’s own Game Center dashboard.
Your Apple Account, Game Center name, friends, leaderboard standing, notifications, retention, and privacy controls are governed by Apple. Scores may be visible to people permitted by your Game Center privacy settings. Turning Meridian’s Game Center switch off stops new Meridian submissions and matchmaking, but does not delete information Apple already holds. Manage or request deletion of Game Center information through Apple and your Apple Account settings.
6. Sharing a result
After the daily word, Meridian can produce a small grid of coloured squares showing how many rows you used. It never contains the word itself. Nothing is transmitted merely because the grid is created. If you tap Share, Apple’s share sheet passes the text to the person, app, or service you choose, whose handling is governed by that recipient and its terms, not by Company.
7. Purchase and App Store data
Apple processes the App download, Full Journey purchase, payment credentials, taxes, refunds, Family Sharing, and receipts under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Company does not receive your full payment-card number, bank-account number, or Apple Account credentials.
To decide whether Full Journey is unlocked, the App asks Apple’s on-device StoreKit framework whether the Apple Account holds Full Journey and when it originally obtained Meridian. The acquisition date and local paid-build evidence support the transition for people who obtained Meridian before it became free. Restore Purchase asks Apple to refresh the available records. Company does not receive the StoreKit transaction, receipt, or purchase history through the App.
Apple may provide Company aggregated sales, download, refund, territory, product-page, performance, crash, and diagnostic reporting. Company may receive transaction identifiers where needed for fraud, accounting, tax, support, App Store compliance, or legal purposes. That Apple reporting is separate from your local Play Record.
8. Website and hosting data
The App does not send your play to Company. If you open a Company legal or support page, the page is hosted by Vercel Inc. Vercel and related infrastructure may process standard request information such as IP address, request time, requested page, user agent, referrer, security signals, and error or performance information to deliver, secure, and maintain the page.
9. Support communications
If you contact Company, we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, the contents of your message, attachments or screenshots you choose to send, and device, App, purchase, or Game Center details you choose to provide. Do not send passwords, payment credentials, confidential material, regulated data, or another person’s private information unless it is necessary and you are authorized to do so.
10. Information Company does not collect through ordinary App use
Company does not collect through the App your guesses, answers, found words, response times, streak, level progress, gems, match history, share grid, contacts, precise location, photos, camera data, microphone data, biometric identifiers, health data, government identifiers, financial-account numbers, advertising identifier, messages, or browsing history. Company does not receive your Apple Account password or full payment-card number.
Apple may collect and retain information through Game Center, the App Store, device diagnostics, or other Apple services. Apple’s collection is governed by Apple; this Policy describes Company practices and the App’s transmission choices.
11. How Company uses information
- answer support, privacy, legal, and safety correspondence;
- deliver, maintain, secure, debug, and improve Company-controlled pages and the App;
- understand aggregate App Store sales, product-page, refund, crash, and performance reporting;
- investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or Terms violations;
- comply with law, valid legal process, tax, accounting, audit, and App Store duties;
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and
- complete a financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale subject to appropriate safeguards.
Company does not use information for materially different purposes without the notice or consent required by law.
12. When Company discloses information
Company discloses the limited information it holds only to service providers acting for Company; Apple for App Store and platform functions; recipients you direct; professional advisers, auditors, and insurers; authorities or litigants when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or property; and transaction parties in a financing, merger, reorganization, bankruptcy, acquisition, or asset sale subject to suitable confidentiality obligations.
Company does not sell personal information for money or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
13. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
This version contains no analytics, attribution, or third-party crash-reporting SDK. It does not access the advertising identifier or track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. Its Apple privacy manifest declares Gameplay Content because the bounded trial ledger can use the player’s iCloud account; under Apple’s definitions that data is linked to the user, used for App Functionality, and not used for tracking. Company does not receive the ledger.
Company’s receipt of aggregate App Store reporting from Apple does not give Company your local Play Record.
14. Retention
Your local record remains on your device until you erase it in the App’s settings or delete the App, subject to backups and device migration you control. Company cannot delete it for you. Game Center data is retained by Apple under Apple’s policies.
Company retains support and legal correspondence, transaction identifiers, website records available to Company, and business records for as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, accounting, tax, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, App Store compliance, and legitimate business operations, then deletes or de-identifies them subject to legal holds and backup cycles.
15. Security
Company uses administrative and technical safeguards proportionate to the limited information it holds. The protections that matter most for a local record are the controls you manage: device passcode, biometric lock, operating-system updates, Apple Account security, Game Center privacy settings, and backup settings.
No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Company cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure will never occur.
16. Children
Meridian is not directed to children under 13, and Company does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 through ordinary App use. Game Center and Family Sharing eligibility are governed by Apple and a parent or guardian’s settings; a parent or guardian who does not want a child matched with other players should leave Meridian’s Game Center switch off. If you believe a child sent personal information to Company through support, contact us.
17. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, object to, or appeal certain processing. Send Company requests to support@myworkingmemory.ai. Company may need to verify your identity and authority.
Company cannot fulfill a request concerning your local record because Company does not have it; use Erase everything on this device in the App’s settings, or delete the App. Direct Game Center or Apple Account requests to Apple. Company will not discriminate against you for exercising a non-waivable privacy right.
18. Sensitive data and professional use
Meridian is not designed to collect health, biometric, precise-location, government-identifier, financial-account, or other regulated sensitive data. Do not use the App as a medical device, cognitive assessment, diagnosis, therapy, legal or financial tool, emergency service, or sole basis for a rights-affecting decision.
19. International use
Company operates from the United States. Ordinary local play does not transfer your record to Company internationally. Apple Game Center and App Store traffic, website hosting, and support messages may be processed where Apple, Vercel, email providers, or other service providers operate under their terms and applicable safeguards.
20. Changes to this Policy
Company may update this Policy. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes to data practices will receive the notice or consent required by applicable law or platform rules. If you do not agree with an updated Policy, stop using the affected Services and turn the Game Center switch off.
