Write to support@myworkingmemory.ai. Include the Chronogram version, your device and operating-system version, and what happened just before the problem. A screenshot helps. Do not send passwords, payment details, your Apple Account credentials, or other sensitive information.

How the game works

• Today’s puzzle is one rack of letters and sixty seconds. Everyone gets the same letters on the same day. The rack is worked out on your device from the calendar date, so no server is involved and no connection is needed.
• Sprint lets you choose a rack size and race the clock.
• Judge shows a letter string and asks whether it is a real word or a convincing fake.
• Hooks shows a stem and one added letter, and asks whether the stem takes that hook.
• Foundations drills the short two- and three-letter words until they are automatic.

Answers come from a deliberately ordinary word list. Chronogram will not require you to find dictionary trivia in order to score.

The day boundary

A Chronogram day is a Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) day, so every player anywhere in the world is working the same rack at the same moment. Depending on where you live, the new puzzle therefore arrives at a local time that is not midnight. The app always shows when the next puzzle is due in your own clock.

Your rating

Chronogram keeps a private rating that moves with the accuracy and speed of your sessions. It is yours alone: it is stored on your device, it is never published, and it is not a leaderboard position. Ratings start at 1,000 and move by at most 40 points per session.

The rating is rebuilt from your session history rather than stored as a running total, so it can always be reconstructed exactly and cannot drift.

Streaks

A single missed day does not erase your streak. Chronogram allows one grace day per seven days played, because a habit that collapses after one bad day is not a habit worth building. The home screen leads with how many of the last seven days you have played.

Collections

Collections change the accent colour of the app and nothing else. Every collection unlocks by playing, and none is ever sold. They are part of Full Training and are never a separate purchase.

Game Center

Game Center is optional and is never signed in at launch. When you open the leaderboard or finish a daily puzzle, Chronogram asks Apple to authenticate you. Only your daily score and your achievements go to Apple; your private rating never leaves the device. A score earned offline is queued and sent later, and sending the same day twice is harmless. If Game Center is signed out or restricted, the screen says so and the rest of the app is unaffected.

iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, your session history keeps in step across your own Apple devices. Merging only adds sessions, so playing on two devices offline cannot lose history from either. Your rating is recalculated from the merged history rather than copied, which is why two devices always agree. If you are not signed in to iCloud, everything stays on the device and the app works exactly the same.

Challenging a friend

After a daily puzzle you can send a challenge link. It carries the date and your score and never any words, so it cannot spoil the answer. Your friend gets the same letters simply by opening the app that day, whether or not they followed the link. A link from an earlier day says it has expired and offers today’s puzzle instead.

On Mac

Chronogram on the Mac is keyboard-first: type letters to build a word, Return to submit, Escape to clear, Space to shuffle, Delete to take a letter back. You can also export your full session history as a CSV file from Settings.

Storage, deletion, and recovery

Your rating, session history, streak, unlocked collections, and settings are stored on your device. To erase everything Chronogram has recorded, open Settings inside the app and choose Reset all progress. This cannot be undone. Deleting the app also removes its data.

Because Chronogram uses no account and we run no server, we cannot recover progress for you and we have no copy of it. If you use iCloud, your own iCloud account may hold a copy; manage or remove it in your device’s iCloud settings.

Accessibility

Haptics can be turned off in Settings. Apple system accessibility settings may change how controls and text are presented. If a task is hard to use, write to us with the device, operating-system version and exact step that failed.

Free plays and Full Training

What you get for free. Chronogram is free to download and gives you three free plays. A play is one finished result — a round played through to its summary card. If you back out of a round before answering anything, it does not use a play. The guided first round is a tutorial and does not use one either. You can spend the three however you like: the daily puzzle, Sprint, Judge, Hooks, Foundations or guided practice.

What happens after the third. You see your third result in full, and then the app asks whether you want Full Training. If you would rather not, everything that is not playing stays open: your past results, your statistics, settings, help, the legal pages, and Restore Purchase.

What Full Training unlocks. Full Training removes the play limit and opens every current daily puzzle, trainer and guided practice, rating and history feature, Game Center feature, iCloud sync, Home Screen widget, challenge link and collection. The offer screen shows the current price Apple returns for your storefront before you confirm.

Supported devices. Chronogram is built for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro. Apple associates Full Training with the Apple Account used for the transaction and applies its current device and Family Sharing rules.

If you paid to download an earlier version. Full Training is enabled automatically from Apple’s verified original acquisition record. If it is not showing, open Settings and choose Restore Purchase while signed in to the Apple Account you originally used. If it still does not appear, email us and say which Apple device you are using; do not send account credentials.

New device, or reinstalled. Choose Restore Purchase on the offer screen or in Settings.

Reinstalling does not reset the free plays. The count of plays used is kept in your device keychain and, when you are signed in to iCloud, across your own devices, so three free plays are three plays rather than three per device or three per reinstall. “Reset all progress” deletes your rating, sessions and streak; it deliberately does not refill the free plays, and it never removes Full Training.

Waiting for approval. If your purchase needs someone else to approve it — Ask to Buy, or a step from your bank — the app says so and unlocks by itself once Apple approves. Nothing is charged until then, and your free plays are untouched.

Refunds. Apple, not Myworkingmemory LLC, processes the payment and handles refunds. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com or through your Apple Account purchase history. Deleting the app does not refund a purchase.
