Chronogram Privacy Policy

Chronogram creates no Myworkingmemory account and sends no play record to Myworkingmemory LLC. Optional Apple Game Center and iCloud features send the limited data described below to Apple when you use them.

1. Who we are

Chronogram (the “App”) is published by Myworkingmemory LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us”), a Tennessee limited liability company. Contact us at support@myworkingmemory.ai. This Policy explains how the App and this website treat information.

2. Short version

3. Product and privacy posture

Chronogram is a free download with three finished plays and an optional Full Training unlock. The word lists, daily puzzle and rating are computed on your device. The limited information sent to Apple through optional iCloud and Game Center features is described below; Myworkingmemory LLC does not receive it.

The daily puzzle is derived from the calendar date by a fixed rule, which is why every player sees the same letters without a Company game server.

4. Information stored on your device

The App stores on your device: your rating and session history; completed puzzles; missed words used for later drills; streak; unlocked collections; settings; aggregate counters such as launches and finished free plays; how many of the three free plays you have used; and whether Full Training is unlocked. Myworkingmemory LLC cannot see this record. If you use iCloud, the items named in Section 6 are also sent to Apple for App Functionality.

The free-play ledger is also kept in the device keychain so deleting and reinstalling the App does not reset the trial. It contains a bounded count and short one-way digests used to recognize previously counted play sessions; it does not contain the words, answers or scores from those sessions. Full Training status is determined from Apple StoreKit and may be cached locally.

This information may be included in your own device backups if you use Apple’s backup services. Those backups are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy, not by this one.

5. Apple Game Center

Game Center is optional. The App does not sign you in at launch; it asks Apple to authenticate you only when you open a leaderboard or finish a daily puzzle, and if you decline, or Game Center is signed out or restricted, everything else in the App works unchanged.

When Game Center is available, the App submits only your daily puzzle score to Apple, together with the identifier of the day it belongs to, and reports which achievements you have earned. Your private rating, the words you played, your streak and your practice history are never submitted. Scores are queued on your device first, so a round played offline is delivered later rather than lost.

Game Center sign-in, your Game Center display name, friends, leaderboards, notifications, privacy settings and deletion requests are Apple services governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one. Manage them in the Settings app under Game Center. Myworkingmemory LLC does not receive your Apple Account details and cannot see who you are.

6. iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, the App can keep your session history in step across your own Apple devices using Apple’s key-value storage. The data goes to your iCloud account, not to us: Myworkingmemory LLC operates no server, has no access to your iCloud, and receives nothing.

What syncs is the session log, the list of words you have missed, and the free-play ledger count and short one-way digests. Merging is additive: a device adds sessions it had not seen and never deletes another device’s history, while the ledger prevents the same completed play from being counted twice. If you are not signed in to iCloud, or iCloud is unavailable, the App stores and counts play locally on that device.

iCloud storage, sign-in and deletion are Apple services governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy. You can remove Chronogram’s iCloud data through your device’s iCloud settings.

7. Sharing a result

When you choose to challenge a friend, the App builds a link containing the date and the number of words and points you scored, and hands it to the system share sheet. It contains no words from the puzzle, so sharing cannot spoil the answer. You choose whether to send it and to whom. The App does not read your contacts, does not post anything on your behalf, and uses no attribution or install-referral software; a friend who opens the App on the same day receives the same puzzle because the puzzle is derived from the date, not because anything was tracked.

8. Purchase and App Store data

The App is free to download. Full Training is an in-app purchase you make from Apple. Apple processes the payment, holds your payment credentials, and handles refunds. Company never receives your payment card, bank details, or Apple Account credentials, and never receives a transaction identifier.

To decide whether Full Training is unlocked, the App asks Apple’s StoreKit framework what this Apple Account is entitled to. It also asks Apple when the account first obtained the App so customers who paid to download an earlier version receive Full Training automatically. Those answers are used on the device and are not sent to Myworkingmemory LLC.

Company receives from Apple only aggregate commercial reporting — for example, counts of downloads, units sold, proceeds and refunds by territory — which does not identify individual purchasers. That reporting, in App Store Connect, is the only place the free-to-paid conversion of this App is measured; the App itself contains no analytics service and sends no measurement anywhere.

9. Website and hosting data

This website is served by a third-party hosting provider, which receives ordinary web-request information in order to deliver the pages. Company does not use the website to build advertising profiles. The provider’s own documentation governs its log handling.

10. Support communications

If you email support, we receive what you choose to send: your email address, your message, and anything you attach. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem, and we keep it no longer than needed for those purposes and for our ordinary business records. Please do not send passwords, payment details, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive information.

11. Information Company does not collect through ordinary App use

Company does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise or coarse location, photos, microphone or camera input, health data, financial-account information, advertising identifiers, device identifiers for tracking, browsing history, or the specific words you play. The App does not build a profile of you and does not link anything to your identity. Company has no server that receives App data, so the only information that leaves your device goes to Apple, at your choice, through Game Center or iCloud.

12. How Company uses information

Company uses the limited information described above to operate and support the App, to answer support requests, to keep the App and this website working and to protect them from misuse, and to meet legal obligations. Company does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and does not use your information to train machine-learning models.

13. When Company discloses information

Company may disclose information to service providers that operate this website or our email, acting on our instructions; to comply with law or valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, and property of Company, our users, or the public; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case any acquirer remains bound by this Policy for information previously collected.

14. Measurement and tracking

The App sends no play telemetry to Myworkingmemory LLC. Company measures downloads, purchases, proceeds and refunds only through the aggregate reports Apple provides in App Store Connect. The App does not request Apple’s tracking permission in this version.

15. Retention

Information stored on your device remains there until you erase it or delete the App. Support email is kept for as long as we need it to answer you and for our ordinary business records. We do not state a retention period for the hosting provider’s web-request logs, because that period is the provider’s to describe, not ours.

16. Security

Because App data stays on your device, it is protected mainly by your device’s own controls: your passcode, biometric lock, and operating-system updates. Company applies reasonable safeguards to the limited information it holds, such as support email. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed, and Company does not claim that any system is secure or that information can never be accessed without authorisation.

17. Children

The App is a general-audience word game. It creates no Company account or sign-in and sends no gameplay or contact information to Company. A child could send personal information only by emailing support. If you believe that happened, write to us and we will delete it. Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

18. Your privacy rights and choices

You can erase all App data at any time using Reset all progress in the App’s Settings, or by deleting the App. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal information, to opt out of sale or targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because Company holds no personal information about App users beyond any support email you send us, a request will usually be answered by confirming that we hold nothing, or by deleting your support correspondence. Write to support@myworkingmemory.ai. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

19. Sensitive data and professional use

The App is a word game and a practice tool. It is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a cognitive assessment, and nothing in it is professional advice. Do not rely on it for any clinical, educational, or employment decision.

20. International use

Company operates from the United States. If you use the App or this website from outside the United States, any information you choose to send us, such as support email, will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

21. Changes to this Policy

Company may update this Policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects information practices, Company will provide notice and request consent where applicable law requires it. This Policy is a notice, not a contract, and continued use does not replace any affirmative consent required by law.
