Almanac Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Myworkingmemory LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operates Almanac: Word Workout (the "App"), the myworkingmemory.ai pages that link to this Policy, and related support (together, the "Services"). This Policy explains what information the App and Company handle, how it is used and disclosed, and the choices available to you.

2. Short version

Almanac is a one-time-purchase word game for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. The complete practice history—words, answers, timings, word states, local streaks, settings, and monthly activity—is stored and processed on your device. Company has no Almanac account or game server and does not receive that history.

Almanac contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, attribution SDK, or cross-app tracking. It does not sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Apple Game Center is optional and off until you choose one or more Game Center features. If you opt in, the App sends the selected aggregate standings and/or achievement progress to Apple and may receive your Game Center display name for the current authenticated experience. Game Center is operated by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy, not by Company.

3. Product and privacy posture

• Almanac is distributed through the Apple App Store as a one-time purchase, with no subscription, in-app purchase, advertising, or recurring charge.
• No Company account, email sign-in, or Company public profile is created. An optional Apple Game Center profile remains an Apple service.
• Practice prompts, answer judging, scheduling, word states, streaks, standings, and share-card creation are computed on your device.
• Company operates no server for practice history, Game Center scores, achievements, or challenges.
• The App makes network requests only to Apple Game Center after you opt in and when you open legal or support links in your browser.
• The App is a word game and vocabulary practice, not a health, medical, mental-health, biometric, legal, financial, employment, housing, education-decision, or safety-critical service.

4. Information stored on your device

Almanac stores in Apple-provided local App storage the words you have met; definitions, origins, and examples bundled with the App; answer outcomes; response times; hint use; word-review state and due dates; completed practice days; local streak and grace-day records; Gauntlet progress; local standing; display preferences; and Game Center feature choices.

Version 2 may read the aggregate Practice Ledger totals created by version 1 on the same installation and migrate those totals into the new local record. That migration happens on your device. Company does not receive the old or new record.

Device backups, iCloud Backup, computer backups, device migration, and restoration are controlled by Apple and by your settings. Company cannot access, restore, correct, export, or delete the local record for you.

5. Apple Game Center

Game Center sharing begins off. In the App's settings, you may choose separately whether to post standings, post achievements, or accept Gauntlet challenges. Enabling any choice asks Apple Game Center to authenticate you. If you leave every choice off, Almanac does not install a Game Center authentication handler or submit Game Center progress.

When authentication succeeds, Apple provides the App with your Game Center display name so Almanac can show that you are connected. The App does not save that display name in Company systems, and Company does not receive your Apple Account credentials, Apple Account email address, password, payment data, or complete Game Center friend list.

If you enable standings, the App may submit to Apple these aggregate numbers: your best Gauntlet rung for the week, words answered correctly for the week, different days practiced for the month, and total rooted words. It does not submit individual words, individual answers, definitions, response times, or the complete practice calendar.

If you enable achievements, the App may submit achievement progress derived from local practice, such as completed sets, practice days, rooted-word counts, Gauntlet rungs, returned words, a completed calendar month, a hint-free Full Sitting, a sub-three-second median Full Sitting, the absence of slipping words after practice, and the longest review interval held. Apple may display achievements and completion progress through Game Center.

If you enable challenges, Apple Game Center may let you send or receive Gauntlet challenges, invitations, deep links, and notifications. Almanac does not provide chat and does not receive the text of private communications between Game Center users. Game Center availability, identity, friends, standings, achievements, challenges, notifications, retention, and privacy controls are governed by Apple. Scores and achievements may be visible to people permitted by your Game Center privacy settings.

You may turn Almanac's three Game Center choices off in the App. That stops new Almanac submissions and deactivates the in-App access point, but it does not delete information Apple already holds. Manage or request deletion of Game Center information through Apple and your Apple Account settings.

6. Sharing a month card

Almanac can render a summary image of the month on your device. Nothing is transmitted merely because the card is created. If you tap Share, Apple's share sheet passes the card to the person, app, or service you choose. The recipient's handling is governed by that recipient and its terms, not by Company. The underlying word-by-word history is not included in the card.

7. Purchase and App Store data

Apple processes the App purchase, payment credentials, taxes, refunds, Family Sharing, and receipts under Apple's terms and privacy policy. Company does not receive your full payment-card number, bank-account number, or Apple Account credentials.

Apple may provide Company aggregated sales, download, refund, territory, product-page, performance, crash, and diagnostic reporting. Company may receive transaction identifiers where needed for fraud, accounting, tax, support, App Store compliance, or legal purposes. That Apple reporting is separate from the App's local practice history.

8. Website and hosting data

The App does not send practice data to Company. If you open a Company legal or support page, the page is hosted by Vercel Inc. Vercel and related infrastructure may process standard request information such as IP address, request time, requested page, user agent, referrer, security signals, and error or performance information to deliver, secure, and maintain the page.

9. Support communications

If you contact Company, we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, the contents of your message, attachments or screenshots you choose to send, and device, App, purchase, or Game Center details you choose to provide. Do not send passwords, payment credentials, confidential material, regulated data, or another person's private information unless it is necessary and you are authorized to do so.

10. Information Company does not collect through ordinary App use

Company does not collect through the App your individual words or answers, response times, local practice history, month card, contacts, precise location, photos, camera data, microphone data, biometric identifiers, health data, government identifiers, financial-account numbers, advertising identifier, messages, or browsing history. Company does not receive your Apple Account password or full payment-card number.

Apple may collect and retain information through Game Center, the App Store, device diagnostics, or other Apple services. Apple's collection is governed by Apple; this Policy describes Company practices and the App's transmission choices.

11. How Company uses information

• answer support, privacy, legal, and safety correspondence;
• deliver, maintain, secure, debug, and improve Company-controlled pages and the App;
• understand aggregate App Store sales, product-page, refund, crash, and performance reporting;
• investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or Terms violations;
• comply with law, valid legal process, tax, accounting, audit, and App Store duties;
• establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; and
• complete a financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale subject to appropriate safeguards.

Company does not use information for materially different purposes without the notice or consent required by law.

12. When Company discloses information

Company discloses the limited information it holds only to service providers acting for Company; Apple for App Store and platform functions; recipients you direct; professional advisers, auditors, and insurers; authorities or litigants when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or property; and transaction parties in a financing, merger, reorganization, bankruptcy, acquisition, or asset sale subject to suitable confidentiality obligations.

Company does not sell personal information for money or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

13. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Almanac contains no analytics, advertising, attribution, or third-party crash-reporting SDK. It does not access the advertising identifier and does not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. Its Apple privacy manifest declares no collected data types, no tracking, and no tracking domains.

Company's receipt of aggregate App Store reporting from Apple does not give Company your local practice record.

14. Retention

Local practice history remains on your device until the App or its data is deleted, subject to backups and device migration you control. Company cannot delete that local history for you. Game Center data is retained by Apple under Apple's policies.

Company retains support and legal correspondence, transaction identifiers, website records available to Company, and business records for as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, accounting, tax, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, App Store compliance, and legitimate business operations, then deletes or de-identifies them subject to legal holds and backup cycles.

15. Security

Company uses administrative and technical safeguards proportionate to the limited information it holds. The protections that matter most for local practice history are the controls you manage: device passcode, biometric lock, operating-system updates, Apple Account security, Game Center privacy settings, and backup settings.

No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Company cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure will never occur.

16. Children

Almanac is not directed to children under 13, and Company does not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 through ordinary App use. Game Center and Family Sharing eligibility are governed by Apple and a parent or guardian's settings. If you believe a child sent personal information to Company through support, contact us.

17. Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, object to, or appeal certain processing. Send Company requests to dean@myworkingmemory.ai. Company may need to verify your identity and authority.

Company cannot fulfill a request concerning local practice history because Company does not have it; use the App and device controls. Direct Game Center or Apple Account requests to Apple. Company will not discriminate against you for exercising a non-waivable privacy right.

18. Sensitive data and professional use

Almanac is not designed to collect health, biometric, precise-location, government-identifier, financial-account, or other regulated sensitive data. Do not use the App as a medical device, cognitive assessment, diagnosis, therapy, legal or financial tool, emergency service, or sole basis for a rights-affecting decision.

19. International use

Company operates from the United States. Local App practice does not transfer your history to Company internationally. Apple Game Center and App Store traffic, website hosting, and support messages may be processed where Apple, Vercel, email providers, or other service providers operate under their terms and applicable safeguards.

20. Changes to this Policy

Company may update this Policy. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes to data practices will receive the notice or consent required by applicable law or platform rules. If you do not agree with an updated Policy, stop using the affected Services and disable optional Game Center features.
