Common questions
- Where are my notes stored? On your device, in the app's own storage. Volt makes no network connections to us, so we do not have a copy and cannot recover, export, or delete your notes for you.
- Can I sync between my devices? Not today. Volt has no account and no cloud sync; each device keeps its own notes.
- How do I remove Volt and its notes? On iPhone and iPad, deleting Volt ordinarily removes its local app data, subject to backups and operating-system behavior. On Mac, removing Volt may leave its sandbox container and notes behind. To remove them, quit Volt, choose Go > Go to Folder in Finder, enter
~/Library/Containers/com.myworkingmemory.volt, and move that Volt container to the Trash. Backups and copies you shared or exported remain until you delete them separately. - What happens when I share or copy a note? The share action sends the selected note to the person, app, or service you choose. On Mac, Copy Spark places the selected note on the system clipboard, which other enabled apps or devices may receive. Volt does not automatically send either copy to us. If you choose us as the recipient, we receive only what you send and handle it as support correspondence under the Privacy Policy.
- How do tags work? Type a word beginning with # anywhere in a note. Volt builds the filter chips from the tags it finds.
- How far back does undo go? Undo covers actions taken while the app is open. Closing and reopening Volt starts a fresh undo history. Your notes are not affected.
- Where did my earlier wording go? Each note keeps its original capture and a list of recent edits. Open a note, then use Browse earlier states or Restore exact capture.
- How do I get a refund? Apple handles App Store purchases and refunds. Request one through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Reporting a problem
If something looks wrong, a screenshot helps more than a description. If Volt closed unexpectedly, tell us what you were doing at the time. We read every message and answer as quickly as we can, though we do not promise a response time.
Privacy and legal
