1. Who We Are

Myworkingmemory LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates Thought Relay (the "App") and related support materials (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Services process, how it is handled, and what choices you have.

2. Short Version

Thought Relay is a fast-capture notes app designed to help you record a passing thought with minimal friction. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. The App stores note records and their attributes—title, text, channel, pin state, color, and timestamps—inside the App's local storage container on your device. Where you use them, it also stores voice recordings you make, the text transcribed from them on your device, and checklists, in that same local container.

Some features are unlocked by a one-time App Store purchase. Apple handles the purchase; Company never receives your payment details.

The current App does not require a Company account, does not send your note content to Company or a Company server, does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites.

Company may receive information only when you choose to contact Company, visit a Company website, interact with the App Store, or deliberately share content to a destination you select. Apple and any destination you choose process information under their own terms and policies.

3. Product and Privacy Posture

The Services are designed as follows:

• Apple App Store distribution for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro;
• the App is offered free, and some features are unlocked by one-time, non-consumable App Store purchases, at prices displayed by Apple. A purchase is tied to your Apple Account, so buying once unlocks the feature on the Apple devices you sign in to. Nothing in the App is a subscription and nothing renews;
• free on every platform: create, edit, and delete text notes; organize notes into channels; pin notes; search titles, note text, and channels; choose a note color; keep checklists; share selected note text through Apple's system share sheet; and, on Mac and Apple Vision Pro, export a note as a text or Markdown file you choose the location of, and print;
• unlocked by purchase: record a spoken thought, keep that recording with the note, turn that recording into text on your device, and lock an individual note;
• the microphone is used only while you are running a capture you started yourself, and the App shows that a recording is in progress the whole time. Nothing starts the microphone without a deliberate action by you;
• speech is turned into text using Apple's on-device speech recognition only. If a device, operating-system version, or language cannot do that on-device, the recording is kept, the note is saved, no transcript is produced, and the App tells you why. There is no fall back to a server, and no recording is ever sent anywhere to be transcribed;
• a locked note's title, text, and recording are encrypted on your device with AES-GCM. The key is held in that device's Keychain, marked so that it never leaves the device and is not included in a backup or a device transfer. Opening a locked note asks the system to confirm you are the device owner using Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID, or the device passcode or password; the App never sees your biometric data or your passcode;
• note records, recordings, transcripts, and checklists are stored locally inside the App's container;
• on iPhone and Apple Watch, a recording or a checklist may be transferred between your own paired iPhone and your own Apple Watch over Apple's WatchConnectivity, which is a direct link between your two devices and does not route through Company;
• no Company account, public profile, social feed, or public gallery;
• no Company-operated cloud sync, note server, or account-based backup;
• no third-party advertising SDK, behavioral advertising, cross-app tracking, or in-App analytics SDK;
• the App makes no automatic or background network requests other than the App Store requests Apple's own StoreKit framework makes to show prices and to confirm what you have purchased, and it does not transmit note content, recordings, transcripts, checklists, or App-use telemetry to Company;
• if you choose Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, or Support, the system opens a Company webpage in your browser;
• no camera, contacts, precise-location, or health permission is requested by the App; and
• Thought Relay is not a medical, mental-health, ADHD-treatment, diagnostic, reminder, or emergency service.

Different App features or data practices may require different disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules. This policy will be updated before a materially different practice is introduced.

4. Information You Create and Store

When you use the App, it may process on your device:

• note titles, note text, channels such as Inbox, Next, Ideas, Words, or Life, pin choices, colors, and timestamps;
• voice recordings you make, stored as audio files in the App's container, and the length of each recording;
• text transcribed from your recordings on your device, and a record of why a transcript could not be made when one could not;
• whether a note is locked, and the encrypted form of a locked note's title, text, and recording;
• checklists you create, their items, and whether each item is ticked;
• search text you enter temporarily;
• filters and channels you select temporarily;
• the identity of notes you pin or unpin;
• creation and last-updated dates;
• text or files prepared when you choose to share, export, or print; and
• calculated displays used to present and organize your notes.

The App stores note records and their attributes—title, text, channel, pin state, color, and timestamps—in its local application container, alongside your recordings and checklists. Search and filter selections are processed temporarily on-device and are not persisted.

The App does not record the words you write or say in any log, event, or measurement. It has no analytics service and sends no events anywhere.

This processing occurs on your device. Company does not receive, host, scan, analyze, index, sell, or use this content through ordinary App use.

You are responsible for having the rights, permissions, and consents needed for content you create, store, or share.

5. Local Storage, Backups, and Deletion

The App writes note records, recordings, and checklists to its local application container on your device. Other apps ordinarily cannot access that container, subject to the operating system, device security, backups, device compromise, and actions you take.

On iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, the App marks its files so that they are unreadable while the device is locked. macOS protects files at the level of the disk rather than the file, so on a Mac the protection of your notes at rest is the disk encryption on that Mac. Turn on FileVault in System Settings if it is off.

Depending on your Apple and device settings, a device backup may include App data. Company does not operate, inspect, control, or guarantee Apple backups, device backups, migrations, or restores.

A locked note is an exception you should understand before you rely on it. Its key never leaves the device that created it and is never included in a backup or a device transfer, so a locked note cannot be opened on another device and cannot be recovered from a backup. If you erase, lose, or replace that device, the contents of a locked note are gone. Unlock a note you want to keep before you move to a new device.

You can delete individual notes inside the App. Deleting a note also deletes the recording attached to it. Deleting the App ordinarily removes its active local container from that device, but copies may remain in device backups, exported files, screenshots, messages, or third-party services you selected.

Company cannot recover, restore, export, correct, or delete local notes for you because Company does not possess them.

6. Sharing and Export

The App uses Apple's system share sheet only after you choose to share a note. The content and destination you select may then be processed by Apple and the chosen destination under their own terms and privacy policies.

On Mac and Apple Vision Pro, you may also export a note as a text or Markdown file, export a recording as an audio file, or print a note. In each case you choose whether to do it and where the file goes.

The App does not automatically publish notes, create public links, or upload notes to Company. Copying, screenshotting, printing, messaging, posting, or otherwise exporting content is controlled by you and by the services you choose.

7. User Notes and Other Content

Thought Relay may be used to write personal or sensitive thoughts, but those notes stay in the App's local container unless you choose to share them.

Search results, counts, word counts, character counts, channels, colors, and formatted share text are calculated on your device from your local content. A locked note is deliberately excluded from search results, because matching it would disclose what it says.

The App turns speech into text using Apple's on-device speech recognition, and only that. It does not use generative AI, remote transcription, remote content moderation, or a third-party content-processing provider, and it has no server fallback for transcription. Where on-device recognition is unavailable, the recording is kept and no transcript is made.

8. Website, App Store, and Technical Data

The current App does not transmit notes, search terms, App-use events, device identifiers, or telemetry to Company. When you visit a Company website or support page, Company and its hosting, security, and infrastructure providers may process routine web information, such as:

• IP address;
• request date and time;
• page or resource requested;
• browser, device, or operating-system technical data;
• country or general region inferred by hosting infrastructure;
• referrer and user agent where applicable;
• basic server logs;
• security and abuse-prevention signals; and
• error or performance information.

Company may also receive aggregated App Store sales, download, performance, crash, or diagnostic information that Apple makes available to developers.

Website and aggregate App Store information may be used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve Company services; comply with law and platform rules; and make product, pricing, marketing, reliability, and App Store decisions.

Company does not receive full note text through website analytics or App Store analytics.

9. Support Communications

If you contact Company for support, Company may receive:

• your email address;
• your name if you provide it;
• the contents of your message;
• screenshots or note excerpts you choose to send;
• attachments you choose to send;
• device, App version, or App Store purchase details you choose to provide; and
• other information reasonably needed to respond.

Do not send note content, confidential information, personal information, or third-party private information unless you want Company to review it for support purposes.

Company uses support communications to respond to you, troubleshoot, maintain business records, enforce Terms, protect Company Parties, and comply with law.

10. Apple and App Store Data

Apple processes App Store downloads, purchases, refunds, taxes, chargebacks, Family Sharing, ratings, reviews, crash information, diagnostics, and App Store analytics under Apple's own terms and privacy policies.

Company may receive aggregated sales, performance, crash, refund, or analytics information from Apple. Company does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.

The App includes one-time, non-consumable in-app purchases and no subscriptions. Apple processes the purchase, the payment, any refund, and Family Sharing. The App asks Apple's StoreKit framework what you have purchased and shows the price Apple returns; it does not validate receipts with a Company server, does not send transaction identifiers to Company, and does not record what you purchased in any analytics or log. Company receives only the aggregated sales and payment reports Apple makes available to developers.

Restoring purchases asks Apple to re-check your Apple Account. It sends nothing to Company.

11. Information We Do Not Collect Through Ordinary App Use

Unless the App is changed and this policy is updated, Company does not collect through ordinary App use:

• your note, journal, draft, or work-note content;
• your tags, filters, colors, pins, or search text;
• Company account usernames or passwords;
• full payment-card numbers;
• contacts or address-book data;
• precise location;
• camera or photo-library data;
• your voice recordings, the text transcribed from them, or any other audio, all of which stay on your device;
• biometric identifiers or biometric information. Where the App asks you to confirm you are the device owner, the system performs the match and returns only success or failure; neither the App nor Company receives your face, eye, or fingerprint data, your passcode, or your password;
• health or medical data;
• government identifiers or financial account numbers;
• advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking;
• SMS or phone-call data;
• a public social profile or public gallery; or
• data for sale to data brokers.

Your local content can leave your device only through device backups, migration, compromise, or actions you choose, such as sharing, copying, or screenshotting.

12. How We Use Information

Company uses information it actually receives to:

• operate, maintain, secure, and improve Company websites and support channels;
• respond to support, legal, safety, and privacy requests;
• troubleshoot bugs, crashes, device issues, or compatibility issues you report;
• maintain legal, tax, accounting, support, and business records;
• enforce Terms and protect Company Parties, users, and platforms;
• prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or security incidents affecting Company systems;
• comply with law, App Store rules, and legal process; and
• make product, pricing, marketing, reliability, and App Store decisions using aggregate or non-content information.

Company does not use your local notes for advertising, analytics, AI training, personalization, or product research because Company does not receive them through ordinary App use.

13. How We Share Information

Company may disclose information it actually receives to:

• website hosting, email, support, security, and infrastructure providers;
• Apple and platform providers for App Store distribution, purchases, refunds, app review, crash reporting, analytics, fraud prevention, and account administration;
• professional advisors, insurers, auditors, and business operations providers;
• authorities, courts, regulators, or litigants where legally required or reasonably necessary;
• acquirers, successors, financing parties, or transaction parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset sale; and
• other parties with your direction or consent.

Company does not disclose your local notes because Company does not receive them. Company does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

14. Advertising and Tracking

The current App does not include third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or behavioral advertising.

The current App does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because it is not designed to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

Different advertising, tracking, sale, share, or behavioral-advertising practices would require updated disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules.

15. Retention

Local App content remains on your device until you delete individual content, delete the App, erase or replace the device, or another device or backup event changes that content. Company does not set a retention period for local content because Company does not possess it.

Support messages, website logs, App Store reports, legal records, and business records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, tax, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, App Store compliance, and business operations. Company may retain deidentified, aggregated, or non-personal information.

16. Security

The App relies on the application sandbox and your device's operating-system protections. On iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro it marks its files so they are unreadable while the device is locked; on a Mac, at-rest protection is provided by that Mac's disk encryption.

A note you choose to lock is additionally encrypted with AES-GCM using a 256-bit key generated on that device and held in the device Keychain, marked so that it is available only while the device is unlocked, never leaves that device, and is not included in a backup. A locked note's recording is encrypted with the same key. The plaintext is removed from the note in the same step that produces the encrypted form, so there is never a saved state holding both.

Company uses reasonable measures for information Company actually receives. No device, backup, email, website, or storage system is perfectly secure.

You are responsible for your device, passcode, Apple account, backups, cloud settings, exported files, screenshots, messages, and destinations to which you share content.

17. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13. Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App.

If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to Company through support or a Company website, contact Company at dean@myworkingmemory.ai so the request can be reviewed under applicable law.

18. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, appeal, or opt out of certain processing.

Some U.S. state privacy laws apply only above certain revenue, volume, or data-sale thresholds. Company may not be covered by every state privacy law at all times. Company handles privacy requests as required by applicable law.

Send privacy requests to dean@myworkingmemory.ai. Company may need to verify your identity before responding. Company handles non-discrimination obligations as required by applicable law.

Because your App content is stored locally, Company cannot access, correct, export, port, or delete it for you. Use the App and your device controls to manage local content.

19. California Privacy Notes

The current App does not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party ad tracking.

Because the App is not a browser-based service, browser Do Not Track signals do not change App behavior. Different web tracking, advertising, sale, or share practices would require updated disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules.

20. Consumer Health, Biometric, and Sensitive Data

Thought Relay may be used to write personal or sensitive thoughts, but those notes stay in the App's local container unless you choose to share them.

The App does not request health, financial-account, government-identifier, or precise-location data through dedicated fields or device permissions, and Company does not receive those data through ordinary App use. You may choose to enter sensitive information in free-form content, or to speak it into a recording; that content remains on your device unless you share it.

The App does not collect biometric identifiers. Locking and unlocking a note uses your device's own owner-authentication, which may use Face ID, Touch ID, or Optic ID where you have it enrolled, or your device passcode or password. The system performs that check and tells the App only whether it succeeded.

The App uses the microphone only for a recording you start yourself, and shows you throughout that it is recording.

Do not use the Services as a medical, mental-health, therapeutic, biometric, emergency, legal, financial, employment, housing, education, insurance, criminal-justice, or safety-critical tool.

If a future version adds health, wellness, biometric, face, voice, precise-location, AI, SMS, public-gallery, account-sync, or other regulated features, Company will provide updated notices, consents, retention schedules, or deletion rights as required by applicable law or platform rules.

21. International Use

The App processes local content on your device. Company is operated from the United States, and Company websites, support communications, Apple information, or service-provider records may be processed in the United States or other locations where providers operate.

If you use the Services from outside the United States, you are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws and for understanding the data practices of Apple and any sharing destination you select.

22. Changes

Company may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version is identified by an updated effective date.

Material data-practice changes are handled as required by applicable law and platform rules.
