Teleprompter & Prompter Video Support

Updated August 19, 2026 | Myworkingmemory LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company

Teleprompter & Prompter Video is a teleprompter for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Write or paste a script, mark the pauses and the lines you mean to land, then read it back as large scrolling text at a speed you control. On iPhone and iPad it can also record you while the script scrolls.

Write a script

  • Select New Script, give it a title and a platform or project label, then type or paste the words.
  • Pause inserts a [ pause ] marker on its own line. The prompter shows it as a quiet marker rather than reading it aloud as text.
  • Emphasis wraps the current line in **. The prompter shows that line in bold.
  • The editor counts the words and estimates the speaking time at about 130 words a minute. It is an estimate, not a promise.

Read it

  • Select Start, or Prompt, to open the full-screen prompter.
  • Tap the script to pause, and tap again to resume.
  • Adjust Speed while you read until it matches how you actually talk. Adjust Text when the device is farther away.
  • Mirror text is for a teleprompter rig with a beam-splitter glass that reflects the screen. Leave it off otherwise.
  • The progress bar shows how far through the script you are.

Record while the script scrolls (iPhone and iPad)

  • Recording is part of the Everything Unlocked in-app purchase. Everything else in the app works without it.
  • Select Record. iOS asks for camera and microphone permission the first time, and asks for permission to add to your photo library when a take is saved.
  • A three-second countdown runs before the camera rolls, so you have time to look up.
  • Switch between the front and back camera, and use Dim to darken the script over a bright room.
  • The scrolling words are never recorded into the video. They sit on the preview only. The saved file is clean footage of you.
  • Finished takes are saved to your Photos library with no watermark. The app keeps no copy.
  • If a take is interrupted by a call, by the app going to the background, or by the device running out of storage, recording stops. Check Photos before deleting anything.
  • The Mac app has no camera, microphone, or recording feature.

Purchases and restore

  • The app is a paid download. Everything Unlocked is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
  • New device, or reinstalled the app? Select Restore Purchase in the menu. It asks Apple, which is where the entitlement lives.
  • Apple controls purchase, restore, and refund decisions. We cannot restore or refund a purchase for you. Contact Apple Support for billing and refunds.

Privacy

  • Scripts are stored on your device. There is no account and no cloud sync, and we never receive, read, or back up your scripts.
  • Recordings go to your own photo library and are never uploaded to us.
  • Usage data is off unless you turn it on, under More › Usage Data, in the Apple Vision Pro app and in every iPhone, iPad and Mac version released after 19 August 2026. Nothing is sent and no identifier exists until you switch it on, and switching it off deletes the identifier and stops anything further. In iPhone and iPad 1.1 and Mac 1.0.1 there is no switch and the events are sent from launch; deleting the app stops them.
  • When it is on, the events carry counts and fixed labels only. They never contain your script text, script titles, file names, or any part of a recording. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what is sent and how to ask for it to be deleted.
  • On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app deletes the scripts in it. On Mac, removing the app leaves its container folder at ~/Library/Containers/com.myworkingmemory.TeleprompterTheMoment behind, so scripts, settings and the analytics identifier stay until you delete that folder. Keep separate copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Common problems

  • The Record button opens a purchase screen. Recording is the paid unlock. If you already bought it, use Restore Purchase.
  • The camera screen is black. Camera or microphone permission is off. Turn it on in Settings, then reopen the recording screen.
  • A take did not appear in Photos. Permission to add to the photo library was refused, or the device ran out of storage. Check Settings and free space, then record again.
  • The script scrolls too fast or too slow. Change Speed while it is running. The estimate uses a fixed 130 words a minute and everyone speaks differently.
  • Words are mirrored when I did not expect it. Turn Mirror text off.
