Teleprompter Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
Myworkingmemory LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates Teleprompter & Prompter Video (the "App") and the myworkingmemory.ai website pages for the App (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and Company handle, how it is used, how it is shared, and what choices you have.
2. Short Version
Teleprompter shows your script as scrolling text so you can read while looking at a camera. Your scripts stay on your device. Their titles, occasions, and body text are stored in Apple's on-device storage and are never sent to Company or to any third party.
The App uses a product-analytics service. The current version sends a small number of usage events automatically and does not include an in-app switch to turn them off. The events carry counts and settings flags only — never your script text, titles, or occasions. Section 6 describes exactly what is sent, including the fact that the analytics provider receives the internet address the request comes from.
The App can record video of you while your script scrolls, using the camera and microphone, and can add finished recordings to your photo library. This is part of the one-time in-app purchase and runs only when you start a recording. Recording happens entirely on your device. Video and audio are never sent to Company or to any third party, and Company cannot see, hear, access, or recover your recordings. The scrolling text appears on the preview only and is not added into the recorded video. Section 5A describes this in full.
The App does not use location services. It does not require a Company account, does not include third-party advertising SDKs, does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, does not use cross-app tracking, does not collect biometric identifiers, and does not provide health, medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional services.
3. Product and Privacy Posture
The App is designed as follows:
- Apple App Store distribution for iPhone and iPad, and availability on Apple silicon Macs where Apple offers iPhone and iPad apps;
- a one-time purchase, with the price shown in your local App Store storefront;
- no subscriptions, recurring charges, or in-app purchases;
- no Company account, sign-in, or public profile;
- scripts you write are stored on your device using Apple's on-device SwiftData storage;
- the App uses the camera and microphone only while you are recording, and writes finished recordings to your photo library with your permission; recordings never leave your device and Company never receives them;
- the App does not use contacts or location services;
- the App sends product-analytics events to PostHog at its United States endpoint (us.i.posthog.com), automatically and without an in-app switch in the current version;
- analytics events carry counts, settings flags, and app/version identifiers, and a blocked-property filter inside the App drops any property whose name suggests text, titles, notes, files, paths, addresses, dates, amounts, or transactions;
- person profiles are disabled at the provider, and the App does not enable session replay, autocapture, or advertising attribution;
- no third-party advertising SDK, no behavioral advertising, and no cross-app tracking; and
- the App is not a health, medical, mental-health, biometric, financial, legal, employment, housing, education, or safety-critical service.
Different App features or data practices in future versions may require different disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules, and this policy would be updated accordingly.
4. Your Scripts
Everything you write in the App — the script title, the occasion, and the body text, along with the created and updated timestamps — is stored on your device using Apple's on-device SwiftData storage.
Company does not receive your scripts. There is no Company server, no sync service, and no upload feature for scripts. The analytics events described below cannot contain script text, and the App has no code path that would attach it.
Deleting a script removes it from your device. Deleting the App removes the App's stored scripts, subject to your device and Apple backup settings. If iCloud Backup or a computer backup is enabled, Apple's backup may include App data under Apple's terms and your device settings.
5. One-Time Purchase and Apple Payment Data
The App is sold through the Apple App Store as a one-time purchase. Apple processes payment, and prices, currencies, taxes, and fees vary by storefront. There are no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
Company does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple. Company may receive aggregated sales, refund, or download information from Apple, and may receive transaction identifiers as needed to investigate fraud, enforce the Terms, comply with law, or maintain business records.
5A. Camera, Microphone, and Recordings
The App can record video of you while your script scrolls on screen. Recording is part of the one-time in-app purchase and runs only when you start it.
- The camera and microphone are used only while a recording is in progress, and only after you grant permission in iOS.
- Recording happens entirely on your device. Video and audio are never transmitted to Company, to PostHog, or to any other third party. There is no upload path in the App for recordings.
- Company cannot see, hear, access, retrieve, or delete your recordings.
- The scrolling text is drawn on the camera preview only. It is not composited into the recorded video, so the finished file contains your footage without your script.
- When a take finishes, the App asks permission to add the video to your photo library and saves it there. From that point the video is governed by your own photo library, iCloud, and device settings.
- Analytics records only that a recording started, finished, or failed, and a coarse duration band. It never records the video, the audio, the file name, or the exact length.
- You can turn off camera, microphone, or photo library access at any time in the iOS Settings app. Turning off camera or microphone access disables recording; every other part of the App continues to work.
- You are responsible for obtaining any consent required by law where you record, including the consent of anyone else who appears or is heard in your recording.
6. Analytics
The App uses PostHog, a product-analytics service, at its United States endpoint (us.i.posthog.com). The current version sends these events automatically; it does not include an in-app switch to disable them.
The first time the App runs, it creates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it on your device. That identifier is sent with each event so repeated events can be counted as coming from one installation. It is not your name, email address, Apple Account, advertising identifier, or device serial number, and Company has no way to connect it to you.
The events are:
- "app opened," sent when the App launches;
- "app installed," sent the first time the App observes a launch on that device (this is a first-observed-launch signal, not a verified App Store install);
- "app updated," sent when the App version changes, with the previous and current app version numbers;
- "prompter_opened," with the number of lines in the script, whether mirrored display is on, and whether scrolling is running;
- "prompter_toggled," with whether scrolling is now running;
- "script_created," with how many scripts already existed; and
- "script_deleted," with how many scripts were deleted in that action.
Every event also carries the app name, bundle identifier, app version, build number, platform, and a source label.
Your script text, titles, and occasions are never sent. Before an event leaves the App, a filter drops any property whose name contains title, note, name, text, content, file, path, url, amount, date, email, phone, transaction, photo, gps, location, address, or script, and truncates any remaining text value to 80 characters. The events listed above carry only counts and true/false settings flags.
The App instructs PostHog not to create a person profile. The current version does not disable the provider's GeoIP enrichment, so PostHog receives the internet address the request comes from and may derive an approximate, city-level location from it. Company does not use PostHog for advertising, does not enable session replay or autocapture, and does not combine analytics with any other data set.
Because the identifier is random and is not linked to your identity, Company cannot identify you from analytics data and cannot locate one person's events on request. Deleting the App deletes the identifier from your device; reinstalling creates a new one. If Company adds an in-app analytics control or a deletion mechanism, this policy will be updated. Privacy questions may be sent to dean@myworkingmemory.ai.
7. Product, Network, and Hosting Data
Apart from the analytics events described above, the App makes no network connections. When you open a myworkingmemory.ai page for the App, the third-party hosting provider for that website may process standard server-log information, such as IP address, request time, and user agent, to serve and secure the pages. Those website logs are not linked to your use of the App.
8. Support Communications
If you contact Company for support, Company may receive your email address; your name if you provide it; the contents of your message; screenshots or attachments you choose to send; device, App, or purchase details you choose to provide; and other information needed to respond.
Do not send confidential information, third-party private information, or sensitive personal information unless you want Company to review it for support purposes.
Company uses support communications to respond to you, troubleshoot, maintain business records, enforce the Terms, protect Company Parties, and comply with law.
9. Apple and App Store Data
Apple processes App Store downloads, purchases, refunds, taxes, chargebacks, Family Sharing, ratings, reviews, crash information, diagnostics, and App Store analytics under Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
Company may receive aggregated sales, performance, crash, refund, or analytics information from Apple. Company does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.
Company may receive transaction identifiers as needed to verify purchases, investigate fraud, enforce the Terms, comply with law, or maintain business records.
10. Information We Do Not Collect Through Ordinary App Use
Unless the App is changed and this policy is updated, Company does not collect through ordinary App use:
- your script text, script titles, or occasions;
- camera or microphone input, and no video or audio recording of any kind;
- photo library content;
- precise location or GPS coordinates, because the App does not use location services;
- Company account usernames or passwords;
- full payment-card numbers from Apple purchases;
- contacts;
- camera data;
- microphone data;
- biometric identifiers or biometric information;
- health or medical data;
- government identifiers;
- financial account numbers;
- advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking;
- SMS or phone-call data;
- a public social profile or public gallery; or
- data for sale to data brokers.
11. How We Use Information
Company uses the limited information it receives — analytics event counts, support communications, and Apple's aggregate reports — to:
- understand how often the prompter is opened and used, so reliability and product decisions rest on evidence;
- respond to support, legal, safety, and privacy requests;
- troubleshoot bugs, crashes, device issues, and performance issues;
- enforce the Terms and protect Company Parties, users, platforms, and payment systems;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
- comply with law, app-store rules, payment rules, and legal process; and
- make business decisions about maintenance, pricing, marketing, reliability, App Store compliance, and product direction.
12. How We Share Information
Company may disclose information to:
- service providers and processors that host, support, secure, analyze, debug, or maintain the Services and Company systems;
- PostHog, as the analytics provider, for the events described above;
- Apple and platform providers for App Store distribution, purchases, refunds, app review, crash reporting, analytics, and fraud prevention;
- professional advisors, insurers, auditors, and business operations providers;
- authorities, courts, regulators, or litigants where legally required or reasonably necessary;
- acquirers, successors, financing parties, or transaction parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset sale; and
- other parties with your direction or consent.
Company does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
13. Advertising and Tracking
The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or behavioral advertising.
The App does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because it is not designed to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
Different advertising, tracking, sale, share, or behavioral-advertising practices may require updated disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules.
14. Retention
Analytics events are retained by the analytics provider for as long as reasonably necessary for the product-decision purposes described in this policy. Support records, Apple transaction identifiers, website-hosting logs, legal records, and business records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for App operation, support, security, tax, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and App Store compliance. Your scripts remain on your device according to your device settings and choices.
Company may retain deidentified, aggregated, or non-personal information.
15. Security
Company uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information appropriate for the Services' size and data posture. No system is perfectly secure.
You are responsible for your device, passcode, Apple account, App Store settings, backups, cloud settings, and network security.
16. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13. Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to Company, contact Company so the request can be reviewed under applicable law.
17. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, appeal, or opt out of certain processing.
Some U.S. state privacy laws apply only above certain revenue, volume, or data-sale thresholds. Company may not be covered by every state privacy law at all times. Company handles privacy requests as required by applicable law.
Send privacy requests to dean@myworkingmemory.ai. Company may need to verify your identity before responding. Company handles non-discrimination obligations as required by applicable law.
Because your scripts are stored only on your device, Company cannot access, correct, export, or delete them for you; you control them through the App and your device settings. Because analytics events carry only a random installation identifier, Company cannot connect them to you and cannot locate one person's events; Company handles privacy requests as required by applicable law.
18. California Privacy Notes
The App does not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party ad tracking.
Because the App is not a browser-based service, browser "Do Not Track" signals do not change App behavior. Different web tracking, advertising, sale, or share practices may require updated disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules.
19. Consumer Health, Biometric, and Sensitive Data
The Services are not designed to collect consumer health data, biometric identifiers, biometric information, precise location, children's data, financial account data, government identifiers, or other sensitive data through ordinary use.
Do not use the Services as a medical, mental-health, therapeutic, biometric, emergency, legal, financial, employment, housing, education, insurance, criminal-justice, or safety-critical tool.
Different health, wellness, biometric, face, voice, precise-location, AI, account-sync, or other regulated features may require updated notices, consents, retention schedules, or deletion rights as required by applicable law or platform rules.
20. International Use
The Services are operated from the United States and are currently intended for distribution in the United States.
Because your scripts stay on your device, ordinary App use does not transfer them internationally. Analytics events are sent to the analytics provider's United States endpoint.
If you use the Services from outside the United States, you understand that information Company receives may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate.
21. Changes
Company may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version is identified by an updated effective date.
Material data-practice changes are handled as required by applicable law and platform rules.
