BylineKit Privacy Policy

Local creator watermarking | New output copies | No account

Effective date: July 12, 2026 | Company: Myworkingmemory LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company

1. Who We Are

Myworkingmemory LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates BylineKit (the "App") and related support materials (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Services process, how it is handled, and what choices you have.

2. Short Version

BylineKit is a local-first creator-photo utility that lets you add a visible byline or watermark, set creator and copyright metadata, and create a new marked copy. Photos, creator and copyright text, photo metadata, and output copies are processed on your device. The App has no Company account and does not upload your photo content to Company.

The App does not include advertising SDKs, does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not track you across apps or websites. Optional product analytics is off by default. The App creates a random analytics identifier and sends allow-listed events to PostHog only after you affirmatively opt in.

Apart from the limited opt-in analytics described below, Company may receive information when you choose to contact Company, visit a Company website, or interact with the App Store. Apple, PostHog, and any destination you deliberately use process information under their own terms and policies.

3. Product and Privacy Posture

The Services are designed for Apple App Store distribution on iPhone and iPad. Access is offered through auto-renewable monthly and annual subscriptions sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple displays the current localized price and renewal period before purchase. Company presently intends to offer a USD $3.99 monthly option and a USD $18.00 annual option in the United States storefront, but the price displayed by Apple at the time of purchase controls and may be changed through App Store Connect. The current App lets you:

The current App has no Company account, public profile, social feed, public gallery, Company-operated content server, Company-operated cloud sync, or account-based backup. It includes no advertising SDK, behavioral advertising, cross-app tracking, session replay, autocapture, or person-profile creation.

Analytics remains off unless you affirmatively allow it. Only after opt-in does the App create a random installation identifier and send a narrowly allow-listed event set to PostHog. PostHog GeoIP enrichment is disabled, person profiles are disabled, autocapture is disabled, and session replay is disabled. The analytics content firewall excludes photos, image bytes, thumbnails, previews, exports, filenames, file paths, URLs, hashes, metadata field names, metadata values, EXIF or GPS data, coordinates, dates or times taken from a photo, user-entered text, watermark or stamp text, creator or copyright text, addresses, notes, selected-photo counts tied to content, Apple transaction identifiers, contact information, and support-message content.

The App may use Apple-provided photo or file selection and saving controls only when you choose those actions. It does not require contacts, microphone, current-device-location, health, biometric, or financial-account access for ordinary use.

Different App features or data practices may require different disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules. This policy will be updated before a materially different practice is introduced.

4. Photo Information You Select and Process

When you use the App, it may process on your device: selected photos; embedded photo metadata; creator names, bylines, copyright notices, credits, rights statements, and other text you enter; watermark layout and style choices; previews; and marked output copies.

This processing occurs on your device except when you deliberately save to Photos, share to a destination, open an Apple service, or otherwise choose a system action described in this policy. Company and PostHog do not receive, host, scan, analyze, index, sell, or use User Content through ordinary App use. Company does not pre-screen or moderate the lawful private content you keep on your device.

You are responsible for having the rights, permissions, and consents needed for every photo, metadata field, person, property, name, location, date, and other item you select, edit, store, save, or share.

5. Local Processing, Storage, Backups, and Deletion

The App processes photos, creator and copyright text, photo metadata, and output copies in the iOS or iPadOS application environment. Temporary selections and previews may remain until you clear them, replace them, finish the workflow, or the operating system removes temporary data. Output copies remain wherever you choose to save them until you or the destination deletes them.

Depending on your Apple and device settings, device or Photos backups may include App data or output copies. Company does not operate, inspect, control, or guarantee Apple backups, Photos, iCloud, device migrations, or restores.

You can clear local selections or delete output copies using the App, Photos, Files, or destination controls that apply. Deleting the App ordinarily removes its active local container from that device, but copies may remain in Photos, Files, backups, messages, exports, or third-party destinations you selected.

Company cannot recover, restore, export, correct, or delete your Private Local Content because Company does not possess it.

6. Saving, Sharing, and Apple Services

The App uses Apple-provided photo selection, file selection, saving, Photos, or system-sharing controls only after you choose the related action. A marked output copy and the destination you select may then be processed by Apple and the chosen destination under their own terms and privacy policies.

The App does not automatically publish photos, create public links, or upload photos to Company. Saving or sharing creates or places a copy in the destination you selected; manage that copy using the destination's controls.

7. Photo Content, Metadata, and Output Limits

Photos, creator names, credits, contact-style text, copyright notices, and embedded metadata may identify you or other people and may disclose confidential or location-related information.

A watermark, byline, or metadata field does not create, register, verify, or enforce copyright or prove authorship. Metadata can be stripped, changed, ignored, or displayed differently by other software. Watermarks can be cropped or altered. Verify important output and seek qualified legal advice for rights questions.

The current App does not use generative AI, speech recognition, remote transcription, face recognition, remote content moderation, or a third-party photo-content-processing provider.

8. Optional Product Analytics

Analytics is off by default. If and only if you affirmatively opt in, the App creates a random installation identifier and sends analytics directly to PostHog's United States ingestion endpoint. The identifier is not tied to a Company account, name, email address, advertising identifier, Apple account, photo, or purchase record.

The allow-listed event payload may include an event name; a controlled workflow stage, action category, outcome, or error category; App version; build number; platform; bundle identifier; source; and development-or-production environment. It is designed to measure first observed launch, later launches, version changes, whether an on-device workflow starts or completes, and non-content reliability outcomes.

The analytics content firewall excludes photos, image bytes, thumbnails, previews, exports, filenames, file paths, URLs, hashes, metadata field names, metadata values, EXIF or GPS data, coordinates, dates or times taken from a photo, user-entered text, watermark or stamp text, creator or copyright text, addresses, notes, selected-photo counts tied to content, Apple transaction identifiers, contact information, and support-message content. PostHog person profiles, autocapture, session replay, advertising features, and cross-app tracking are disabled. GeoIP enrichment is disabled, and Company does not request or retain geographic properties in analytics events. Network infrastructure may transiently process an IP address to route a request, but it is not included in the allow-listed analytics payload.

You may withdraw consent and stop future analytics at any time through the App's privacy controls. On withdrawal, the App stops sending events and removes its locally stored random analytics identifier. Withdrawal does not automatically delete events already stored by PostHog. Before withdrawing, copy the Analytics ID shown in the App if you may want existing events deleted. To request deletion, email dean@myworkingmemory.ai with that Analytics ID. Company will use it to locate and delete installation-level analytics events as required by applicable law and Company policy. Because Company does not connect the identifier to a name, email address, or account, Company may be unable to locate those events without the identifier.

9. Website, App Store, and Technical Data

When you visit a Company website or support page, Company and its hosting, security, and infrastructure providers may process routine web information such as IP address; request date and time; page or resource requested; browser, device, or operating-system technical data; country or general region inferred by hosting infrastructure; referrer and user agent where applicable; basic server logs; security and abuse-prevention signals; and error or performance information.

Company may receive aggregated App Store sales, download, performance, crash, refund, or diagnostic information that Apple makes available to developers. Website and aggregate App Store information may be used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve Company services; comply with law and platform rules; and make product, pricing, marketing, reliability, and App Store decisions.

Company does not receive your photos or their metadata through website analytics or App Store analytics.

10. Support Communications

If you contact Company for support, Company may receive your email address; your name if you provide it; your message; screenshots, photos, metadata excerpts, or attachments you choose to send; device, App version, or App Store purchase details you choose to provide; and other information reasonably needed to respond.

Do not send photos, metadata, coordinates, addresses, creator information, client details, confidential information, personal information, or third-party private information unless you want Company to review it for support purposes.

Company uses support communications to respond to you, troubleshoot, maintain business records, enforce Terms, protect Company Parties, and comply with law.

11. Apple and App Store Data

Apple processes App Store downloads, purchases, refunds, taxes, chargebacks, Family Sharing, ratings, reviews, crash information, diagnostics, Apple Maps, Photos, iCloud, and App Store analytics under Apple's own terms and privacy policies.

Company may receive aggregated sales, performance, crash, refund, or analytics information from Apple. Company does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.

The App uses StoreKit to display, sell, manage, and restore auto-renewable subscriptions. Apple processes payment information, renewal, cancellation, taxes, refunds, Family Sharing where enabled, and purchase history under Apple's terms. Company does not receive your full payment-card number. The App may read Apple-provided product and entitlement status on device to unlock paid access. Product-load, paywall, purchase-outcome, and restore-outcome analytics events may be recorded only after analytics opt-in; transaction identifiers, receipt data, prices paid, and Apple account information are excluded from PostHog.

12. Information We Do Not Collect Through Ordinary App Use

Unless the App is changed and this policy is updated, Company does not collect through ordinary App use your selected photos, thumbnails, image bytes, filenames, paths, URLs, file hashes, metadata fields or values, EXIF data, GPS data, coordinates, photo dates or times, creator or copyright text, visible watermark or stamp text, job labels, addresses, cleanup selections, corrected dates, output copies, or private previews. Company also does not collect Company account credentials, full payment-card numbers, contacts, microphone recordings, biometric identifiers, health data, government identifiers, financial-account numbers, advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking, SMS or phone-call data, a public social profile, or data for sale to data brokers.

Private Local Content can leave your device only through device backups, Apple services, migration, compromise, or actions you choose, such as saving, sharing, copying, exporting, or sending it to support.

13. How We Use Information

Company uses information it actually receives to operate, maintain, secure, and improve Company websites, support channels, and the non-content App experience; provide and evaluate the limited opt-in analytics described above; respond to support, legal, safety, deletion, and privacy requests; troubleshoot bugs, crashes, device issues, or compatibility issues you report; maintain legal, tax, accounting, support, and business records; enforce Terms and protect Company Parties, users, and platforms; prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or security incidents affecting Company systems; comply with law, App Store rules, and legal process; and make product, pricing, marketing, reliability, and App Store decisions using aggregate or non-content information.

Company does not use your photos, metadata, text, coordinates, or output for advertising, analytics, AI training, personalization, or product research because Company does not receive them through ordinary App use.

14. How We Share Information

Company may disclose information it actually receives to website hosting, email, support, security, and infrastructure providers; PostHog for the limited opt-in pseudonymous product analytics described in Section 8; Apple and platform providers for App Store distribution, purchases, refunds, app review, crash reporting, Apple services, fraud prevention, and account administration; professional advisors, insurers, auditors, and business operations providers; authorities, courts, regulators, or litigants where legally required or reasonably necessary; acquirers, successors, financing parties, or transaction parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset sale; and other parties with your direction or consent.

Company does not disclose your Private Local Content because Company does not receive it. Company does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

15. Advertising and Tracking

The current App does not include third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or behavioral advertising. It does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because it is not designed to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.

Different advertising, tracking, sale, share, or behavioral-advertising practices would require updated disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules.

16. Retention

Private Local Content remains on your device or in a destination you selected until you delete it, delete the App, erase or replace the device, or another device, Photos, Files, backup, migration, or destination event changes it. Company does not set a retention period for Private Local Content because Company does not possess it.

Opt-in pseudonymous analytics events may be retained in PostHog for as long as reasonably necessary to measure activation, successful value completion, reliability, and retention, subject to deletion requests described above. Support messages, website logs, App Store reports, legal records, and business records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, tax, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, App Store compliance, and business operations. Company may retain deidentified, aggregated, or non-personal information.

17. Security

The App relies on the iOS and iPadOS application sandbox and your device's operating-system protections. Company uses reasonable measures for information Company actually receives. No device, backup, email, website, map, photo library, file, or storage system is perfectly secure.

You are responsible for your device, passcode, Apple account, permissions, backups, cloud settings, source photos, output copies, screenshots, messages, and destinations to which you save or share content.

18. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13. Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App.

If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to Company through support or a Company website, contact Company at dean@myworkingmemory.ai so the request can be reviewed under applicable law.

19. State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, appeal, or opt out of certain processing. Some U.S. state privacy laws apply only above certain revenue, volume, or data-sale thresholds. Company may not be covered by every state privacy law at all times. Company handles privacy requests and non-discrimination obligations as required by applicable law.

Send privacy requests to dean@myworkingmemory.ai. Company may need to verify your identity before responding. For installation-level analytics deletion, include the Analytics ID shown in the App. Because Private Local Content is stored on your device, Company cannot access, correct, export, port, or delete it for you; use the App, Photos, Files, device, and destination controls to manage it.

20. California Privacy Notes

The current App does not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party ad tracking. Because the App is not a browser-based service, browser Do Not Track signals do not change App behavior.

21. Sensitive Data

Photos, creator names, credits, contact-style text, copyright notices, and embedded metadata may identify you or other people and may disclose confidential or location-related information.

The App is not designed to collect sensitive User Content for Company. Private Local Content stays local except when you deliberately use Apple services, save, share, export, or contact support. Do not use the Services as a medical, mental-health, therapeutic, biometric, emergency, legal, financial, employment, housing, education, insurance, criminal-justice, or safety-critical tool.

If a future version adds health, wellness, biometric, face, voice, current-device-location, AI, SMS, public-gallery, account-sync, or other regulated features, Company will provide updated notices, consents, retention schedules, or deletion rights as required by applicable law or platform rules.

22. International Use

The App processes Private Local Content on your device except when you deliberately use an Apple service or destination. Company is operated from the United States, and Company websites, support communications, App Store information, opt-in analytics, or service-provider records may be processed in the United States or other locations where providers operate.

If you use the Services from outside the United States, you are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws and for understanding the data practices of Apple and any destination you select.

23. Changes

Company may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version is identified by an updated effective date. Material data-practice changes are handled as required by applicable law and platform rules.
