What Static does
Static saves a web page to your device so you can open it later, including when you are offline or when the page has changed or gone. You give it a web address, it loads the page, and it keeps a local copy as a PageCard with its source information.
Static runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. Basic Standard archiving is free and has no numerical save limit. Static Premium adds private iCloud sync, archive search, notes, Complete Page capture, PDF viewing and export, A–Z sorting, alternate themes, and Mac drag-and-drop.
Saving a page
On iPhone and iPad, tap the plus button in Static and paste an address, or use the share sheet in Safari or another app and choose Save to Static.
On Mac and Apple Vision Pro, open Static and add the address there. Those versions do not include the Save to Static share extension. Premium customers can also drag a web address into Static on Mac.
Where are my saved pages kept?
Every PageCard is kept in Static's local storage. Premium can also copy PageCards and their saved files to the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account so they synchronize across supported devices. There is no Static account and no Company-operated archive server. Keep separate backups or exports of anything that matters to you.
iCloud sync
Private iCloud sync requires active Premium access, the same Apple Account on each device, iCloud Drive enabled, available iCloud storage, and a network connection. Open Static on each device and allow time for the archive to reconcile. Local copies remain available offline. Sync may pause if you sign out of iCloud or switch Apple Accounts.
A page did not save properly
Some pages block saving, need a sign-in, load their content only as you scroll, or rely on scripts that do not finish. Static tells you what it managed to keep. When it cannot make a full copy it still saves available source information so the page is not lost from your list. Opening the PageCard and retrying sometimes helps, especially on a slow connection.
How do I delete a saved page?
Swipe the PageCard in your archive and choose Delete, or open it and choose to delete it there. That removes its saved copy, PDF snapshot, note, and source information from the device. While Premium sync is available, Static also queues deletion of the corresponding private iCloud record. Canceling Premium or deleting the App alone may not delete data already stored in your private iCloud database.
Static Premium and Restore Purchases
Open Static Premium from the sparkles control at the top of the archive. Monthly and yearly subscriptions unlock the same Premium features. Current prices come directly from the App Store.
If you do subscribe, it renews automatically at the price shown until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in your Apple Account settings under Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals and generally does not shorten the period you have already paid for. Apple handles all billing, price changes, and refund decisions; you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If eligible Premium access is missing after reinstalling or moving to a new device, open Static Premium and choose Restore Purchases. Customers who bought an eligible paid version before Static 2.0 are recognized through verified App Store history.
Privacy and analytics
Static never sends your saved pages, web addresses, page titles, notes, saved text, or PDF snapshots to Company or PostHog. Premium privately sends archive content to Apple's CloudKit service for sync. Static also sends limited usage information through PostHog so we can see which parts of the app work and where it fails. That information is tied to a random identifier the app creates and keeps on your device, not to your name, email, or Apple Account. Because the identifier persists, we call it pseudonymous rather than anonymous.
To see exactly what that covers, or to switch it off, open the menu in Static and choose Privacy & Analytics. Turning off "Send limited usage information" stops everything immediately and changes nothing else about the app. That screen also shows your random identifier and gives you a prepared email so you can ask us to delete the records stored under it.
Accessibility
Static supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and the system's reduced-motion setting, and it works with a keyboard and pointer on Mac. If something is hard to read, hard to reach, or unlabelled, email us and tell us where; we treat that as a defect.
