Myworkingmemory LLC
Cipher Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026 | Company: Myworkingmemory LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company
1. Who We Are
Myworkingmemory LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates Cipher: Secret Private Notes (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and Company handle, how it is used, how it is shared, and what choices you have.
2. Short Version
Cipher is designed as a one-time-purchase iOS app that stores your notes on your device. The App has no Company account, no server, and no network features: your notes are not transmitted to Company and Company cannot read them.
The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs, does not include analytics SDKs, does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, does not use cross-app tracking, does not collect biometric identifiers, and does not provide health, medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional services.
3. Product and Privacy Posture
The App is designed as follows:
- Apple App Store distribution as a one-time purchase, with the price shown in your local App Store storefront;
- no subscriptions and no recurring charges;
- no Company account, sign-in, or user profile;
- notes are created and stored entirely on your device using iOS complete file protection;
- your unlock code is stored on your device only as a salted cryptographic hash;
- Face ID unlock is performed by Apple's on-device LocalAuthentication system; biometric data never leaves your device and is never available to Company;
- “burn” permanently deletes a note from the App immediately, with no trash and no undo;
- no server-side processing of your notes by Company;
- no third-party advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no behavioral advertising, and no cross-app tracking; and
- the App is not a health, medical, mental-health, biometric, financial, legal, employment, housing, education, or safety-critical service.
Different App features or data practices in future versions may require different disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules, and this policy would be updated accordingly.
Unlock Code, Face ID, and Burned Notes
Cipher's unlock code is created by you and stored on your device only as a salted cryptographic hash. Company never receives your code, your notes, or any biometric information. Face ID and other biometric processing are performed by Apple on your device through Apple's LocalAuthentication system under Apple's terms.
Because Cipher has no server and no account system, Company cannot reset your code, unlock the App for you, or recover notes you burn. Device backups that you control, such as iCloud device backups, may retain copies of App data according to your settings.
4. Information Stored on Your Device
When you use the App, the notes you create — including note titles, note text, dates — are processed and stored locally on your device. This content stays on your device unless you choose to share, copy, export, back up, or transmit it using device features you control.
Apple and your device settings control local storage, device backups, iCloud behavior, and any sharing you perform from your device. If you screenshot, copy, message, post, publish, or share content from the App, that action is controlled by you and by the services you choose.
5. One-Time Purchase and Apple Payment Data
The App is sold through the Apple App Store. Apple processes payment, and prices, currencies, taxes, and fees vary by storefront. Company does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.
Company may receive aggregated sales, refund, crash, or analytics information from Apple, and may receive transaction identifiers as needed to investigate fraud, enforce Terms, comply with law, or maintain business records.
6. Information We Do Not Collect Through Ordinary App Use
Unless the App is changed and this policy is updated, Company does not collect through ordinary App use:
- your notes or any content you create in the App;
- Company account usernames or passwords;
- full payment-card numbers from Apple purchases;
- contacts;
- precise location;
- camera data;
- microphone data;
- biometric identifiers or biometric information;
- health or medical data;
- government identifiers;
- financial account numbers;
- advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking;
- SMS or phone-call data;
- a public social profile; or
- data for sale to data brokers.
7. Website, Network, and Hosting Data
The App itself does not make network requests to Company. If you visit a Company website or send Company an email, Company and its hosting, security, and infrastructure providers may process routine technical information, such as IP address, request time, browser or operating-system technical data, country inferred by hosting infrastructure, referrer or user agent where applicable, basic logs, security signals, and error or performance information.
This information is used to operate, secure, debug, maintain, and improve Company systems; prevent fraud and abuse; and make business decisions.
8. Support Communications
If you contact Company for support, Company may receive your email address, your name if you provide it, the contents of your message, screenshots or attachments you choose to send, device or App details you choose to provide, and other information needed to respond.
Do not send sensitive notes, personal images, confidential information, or third-party private information unless you want Company to review it for support purposes. Company uses support communications to respond to you, troubleshoot, maintain business records, enforce Terms, protect Company Parties, and comply with law.
9. Apple and App Store Data
Apple processes App Store purchases, refunds, taxes, chargebacks, Family Sharing, ratings, reviews, crash information, diagnostics, and App Store analytics under Apple's own terms and privacy policies. Company may receive aggregated information from Apple as described above.
10. How We Use Information
Company uses the limited information it receives to:
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App and Company systems;
- respond to support, legal, safety, and privacy requests;
- troubleshoot bugs, crashes, device issues, and performance issues;
- enforce Terms and protect Company Parties, users, and platforms;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
- comply with law, app-store rules, and legal process; and
- make business decisions about maintenance, pricing, marketing, reliability, and product direction.
11. How We Share Information
Company may disclose the limited information it receives to:
- service providers that host, support, secure, analyze, debug, or maintain Company systems, websites, and support channels;
- Apple and platform providers for App Store distribution, purchases, refunds, app review, crash reporting, analytics, and fraud prevention;
- professional advisors, insurers, auditors, and business operations providers;
- authorities, courts, regulators, or litigants where legally required or reasonably necessary;
- acquirers, successors, financing parties, or transaction parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset sale; and
- other parties with your direction or consent.
Company does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
12. Advertising and Tracking
The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or behavioral advertising. The App does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because it is not designed to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
13. Retention
Your notes remain on your device under your control. Deleting the App from your device deletes its local data, subject to any device backups you control. Company cannot delete local App data for you.
Support records, legal records, and business records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including support, security, tax, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and business operations. Company may retain deidentified, aggregated, or non-personal information.
14. Security
Company uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate for the App's size and data posture. Because your notes are stored on your device, you are responsible for your device, passcode, Apple account, backups, cloud settings, screenshots, shared content, and network security. No system is perfectly secure.
15. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13. Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to Company, contact Company so the request can be reviewed under applicable law.
16. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, appeal, or opt out of certain processing. Some U.S. state privacy laws apply only above certain revenue, volume, or data-sale thresholds, and Company may not be covered by every state privacy law at all times. Company handles privacy requests as required by applicable law.
Send privacy requests to dean@myworkingmemory.ai. Company may need to verify your identity before responding. Because your notes are stored only on your device, Company cannot access, correct, export, or delete that local content for you.
17. California Privacy Notes
The App does not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party ad tracking. Because the App is not a browser-based service, browser "Do Not Track" signals do not change App behavior.
18. Consumer Health, Biometric, and Sensitive Data
The App is not designed to collect consumer health data, biometric identifiers, biometric information, precise location, children's data, financial account data, government identifiers, or other sensitive data through ordinary use. Content you choose to type into your notes stays on your device and is not received by Company.
Do not use the App as a medical, mental-health, therapeutic, biometric, emergency, legal, financial, employment, housing, education, insurance, criminal-justice, or safety-critical tool.
19. International Use
The App is operated from the United States and distributed through Apple's App Store storefronts in the countries and regions shown on the App's product page. Because the App stores your notes on your device and sends nothing to Company, ordinary App use does not transfer your content internationally. If you contact Company from outside the United States, your support communications may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate.
20. Changes
Company may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version is identified by an updated effective date. Material data-practice changes are handled as required by applicable law and platform rules.
