Myworkingmemory LLC
AtlasRoll Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026 | Last Updated: 2026-07-25 | Company: Myworkingmemory LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company
1. Who We Are
Myworkingmemory LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates AtlasRoll: Travel Photo Map (the "App") and the myworkingmemory.ai website pages for AtlasRoll (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and Company handle, how it is used, how it is shared, and what choices you have.
2. Short Version
AtlasRoll turns travel photos you already have into a private map and trip story. Your photos, the GPS coordinates embedded in them, their capture dates, and your trip records stay on your device. Company never receives them, and there is no Company server that stores them.
The App reads each selected photo's embedded location and capture date on the device, groups nearby photos into stops, and shows them on Apple's map. Place labels are formatted from the coordinates on the device; the App does not send coordinates to a geocoding or lookup service.
Analytics are off by default. If you turn on the optional analytics switch in Settings, the App sends a short list of allow-listed event names with a random analytics identifier and nothing else. You can turn it off at any time.
AtlasRoll is free to download with a built-in sample trip. Building trips from your own photos requires a membership sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple. The App does not require a Company account, does not include advertising SDKs, does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, does not use cross-app tracking, and does not provide health, medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional services.
3. Product and Privacy Posture
The App is designed as follows:
- Apple App Store distribution for iPhone and iPad;
- free App Store download that includes a built-in sample trip;
- a membership sold through Apple In-App Purchase as an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription, with prices and renewal terms shown by Apple;
- no Company account, sign-in, or public profile;
- photos are selected by you in Apple's photo picker, or read from your photo library if you grant photo access so pictures taken during an active trip can appear;
- each photo's embedded GPS coordinate and capture date are read on the device and used to build your map and story;
- photos, coordinates, capture dates, trip titles, and trip records are never uploaded to Company;
- map display uses Apple's MapKit, so Apple loads map imagery for the area you view under Apple's terms;
- trip records and preferences are stored on your device in Apple-provided local storage;
- analytics are optional and off by default; when enabled, only allow-listed event names and a random analytics identifier are sent;
- no third-party advertising SDK, no behavioral advertising, and no cross-app tracking; and
- the App is not a health, medical, mental-health, biometric, financial, legal, employment, housing, education, or safety-critical service.
Different App features or data practices in future versions may require different disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules, and this policy would be updated accordingly.
4. Photos, Location, and Maps
The App needs photos to build a map. You provide them in one of two ways: by choosing photos in Apple's photo picker, or by granting photo library access so the App can find pictures taken while a trip is active. Apple's permission prompts control that access, and you can change it at any time in the Settings app.
For each photo, the App reads the location coordinate and capture date that your camera embedded in the photo file, and it reads image data to display a thumbnail. All of that reading happens on your device. Photos without an embedded location cannot be placed on the map and simply stay in your library.
Nearby photos taken close together in time are grouped into stops on the device. The label shown for a stop is the coordinate formatted as text by the App; the App does not send the coordinate to a geocoding service, a reverse-lookup service, or any Company server.
The map itself is Apple's MapKit. To draw a map, your device requests map imagery from Apple for the area being shown, which means Apple receives the map requests your device makes. That is Apple's service, handled under Apple's terms and privacy policy. Company does not receive those requests.
The App does not use location services, does not request the "When In Use" or "Always" location permission, and does not track your device's live position.
5. Information Stored on Your Device
The App writes to Apple-provided local storage on your device:
- your trip records, including the trip title you type, the start time, the expected end time, and the end time;
- your display preferences;
- a count of meaningful sessions and a flag recording that the App has already asked you for an App Store rating; and
- if, and only if, you turn analytics on, a random analytics identifier stored in the App's own Application Support folder.
This information stays on your device. Deleting the App removes it, subject to your device and Apple backup settings. If iCloud Backup or a computer backup is enabled, Apple's backup may include App data under Apple's terms and your device settings.
6. Membership, Subscriptions, and Apple Payment Data
Membership is sold through Apple In-App Purchase as an auto-renewing subscription, offered as a monthly option and an annual option. Apple displays the current price and renewal terms before you buy, processes the payment, and manages renewal, cancellation, Family Sharing, taxes, and refunds under Apple's rules.
The App checks your current entitlements through Apple's StoreKit to decide whether membership is active on your device, and it offers a restore function that asks Apple to re-sync your purchases. No transaction identifier, receipt, or purchase record is sent to a Company server, because the App has no Company server.
Company does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple. Company may receive aggregated sales, subscription, refund, and download reports from App Store Connect.
You manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple subscription settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
7. Optional Analytics
Analytics are off when you install the App. Nothing is sent unless you turn on "Help improve AtlasRoll" in AtlasRoll Settings.
If you turn it on, the App generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it on your device. From then on, when one of a fixed list of events happens, the App sends a small message to PostHog, an analytics provider, at its United States endpoint (us.i.posthog.com). The events are: app opened, photo import completed, metadata inspection completed, map opened, paywall viewed, purchase succeeded, restore started, restore succeeded, and restore failed.
Each message contains only: the event name from that fixed list; the random analytics identifier; the App's product identifier; a schema version; and two provider flags that instruct PostHog to disable GeoIP enrichment and not to create a person profile. A content check inside the App independently rejects any message that contains any other field, and the App has no code path that can attach a photo, a filename, a file path, a coordinate, a capture date, a trip title, a hash, or any text you typed.
Because the message travels over the network, PostHog's servers necessarily receive the internet address the request comes from. The App instructs PostHog to disable GeoIP enrichment and not to build a person profile. Company does not use PostHog for advertising, does not enable session replay or autocapture, and does not combine analytics with any other data set.
The Settings screen shows your analytics identifier while analytics are on, and the value can be selected and copied. Turning the switch off immediately stops future events and deletes the identifier from your device. Because the identifier is random and is not connected to your name, email, or Apple account, Company cannot tell who you are from analytics data; if you want stored events deleted, copy the analytics identifier while the switch is still on and email it to dean@myworkingmemory.ai, and Company will handle the request as required by applicable law.
8. Support Communications
If you contact Company for support, Company may receive your email address; your name if you provide it; the contents of your message; screenshots or attachments you choose to send; device, App, or purchase details you choose to provide; and other information needed to respond.
Do not send confidential information, third-party private information, or sensitive personal information unless you want Company to review it for support purposes.
Company uses support communications to respond to you, troubleshoot, maintain business records, enforce the Terms, protect Company Parties, and comply with law.
9. Apple and App Store Data
Apple processes App Store downloads, purchases, refunds, taxes, chargebacks, Family Sharing, ratings, reviews, crash information, diagnostics, and App Store analytics under Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
Company may receive aggregated sales, performance, crash, refund, or analytics information from Apple. Company does not receive your full payment-card number from Apple.
Company may receive transaction identifiers as needed to verify purchases, investigate fraud, enforce the Terms, comply with law, or maintain business records.
10. Information We Do Not Collect Through Ordinary App Use
Unless the App is changed and this policy is updated, Company does not collect through ordinary App use:
- your photos, thumbnails, or any image data;
- the GPS coordinates or capture dates embedded in your photos;
- your trip titles, trip records, or map contents;
- your device's live or precise location through location services;
- photo library identifiers, filenames, or file paths;
- Company account usernames or passwords;
- full payment-card numbers from Apple purchases;
- contacts;
- camera data;
- microphone data;
- biometric identifiers or biometric information;
- health or medical data;
- government identifiers;
- financial account numbers;
- advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking;
- SMS or phone-call data;
- a public social profile or public gallery; or
- data for sale to data brokers.
11. How We Use Information
Company uses the limited information it actually receives — support communications, Apple's aggregate reports, and, only if you turned analytics on, allow-listed event counts — to:
- understand which workflows people finish and which fail, so reliability and product decisions rest on evidence;
- respond to support, legal, safety, and privacy requests;
- troubleshoot bugs, crashes, device issues, and performance issues;
- enforce the Terms and protect Company Parties, users, platforms, and payment systems;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
- comply with law, app-store rules, payment rules, and legal process; and
- make business decisions about maintenance, pricing, marketing, reliability, App Store compliance, and product direction.
12. How We Share Information
Company may disclose information to:
- service providers and processors that host, support, secure, analyze, debug, or maintain the Services and Company systems;
- PostHog, as the analytics provider, and only for the allow-listed events described above, and only while you have analytics turned on;
- Apple, for map imagery requested by your device through MapKit and for photo access mediated by Apple's system permissions;
- Apple and platform providers for App Store distribution, purchases, refunds, app review, crash reporting, analytics, and fraud prevention;
- professional advisors, insurers, auditors, and business operations providers;
- authorities, courts, regulators, or litigants where legally required or reasonably necessary;
- acquirers, successors, financing parties, or transaction parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset sale; and
- other parties with your direction or consent.
Company does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
13. Advertising and Tracking
The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or behavioral advertising.
The App does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission because it is not designed to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
Different advertising, tracking, sale, share, or behavioral-advertising practices may require updated disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules.
14. Retention
Analytics events, if you enabled analytics, are retained by the analytics provider for as long as reasonably necessary for the product-decision purposes described in this policy. Support records, Apple transaction identifiers, website-hosting logs, legal records, and business records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for App operation, support, security, tax, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and App Store compliance. Your photos, coordinates, and trip records remain on your device according to your device settings and choices.
Company may retain deidentified, aggregated, or non-personal information.
15. Security
Company uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information appropriate for the Services' size and data posture. No system is perfectly secure.
You are responsible for your device, passcode, Apple account, App Store settings, backups, cloud settings, and network security.
16. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13. Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to Company, contact Company so the request can be reviewed under applicable law.
17. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, appeal, or opt out of certain processing.
Some U.S. state privacy laws apply only above certain revenue, volume, or data-sale thresholds. Company may not be covered by every state privacy law at all times. Company handles privacy requests as required by applicable law.
Send privacy requests to dean@myworkingmemory.ai. Company may need to verify your identity before responding. Company handles non-discrimination obligations as required by applicable law.
Because your photos, coordinates, and trip records are stored only on your device, Company cannot access, correct, export, or delete them for you; you control them through the App, the Photos app, and your device settings.
18. California Privacy Notes
The App does not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use third-party ad tracking.
Because the App is not a browser-based service, browser "Do Not Track" signals do not change App behavior. Different web tracking, advertising, sale, or share practices may require updated disclosures, controls, or consents as required by applicable law or platform rules.
19. Consumer Health, Biometric, and Sensitive Data
The App reads the location coordinate embedded in photos you select, on your device, to place them on your private map. It does not use location services, and it does not transmit those coordinates. The Services are not designed to collect consumer health data, biometric identifiers, biometric information, children's data, financial account data, government identifiers, or other sensitive data.
Do not use the Services as a medical, mental-health, therapeutic, biometric, emergency, legal, financial, employment, housing, education, insurance, criminal-justice, or safety-critical tool.
Different health, wellness, biometric, face, voice, precise-location, AI, account-sync, or other regulated features may require updated notices, consents, retention schedules, or deletion rights as required by applicable law or platform rules.
20. International Use
The Services are operated from the United States and are currently intended for distribution in the United States.
Because photos, coordinates, and trip records stay on your device, ordinary App use does not transfer that content internationally. If you turn analytics on, the allow-listed events are sent to the analytics provider's United States endpoint.
If you use the Services from outside the United States, you understand that information Company receives may be processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate.
21. Changes
Company may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version is identified by an updated effective date.
Material data-practice changes are handled as required by applicable law and platform rules.
